12 years ago the most caring and thoughtful lil girl came into our lives. She is fun-loving, loud, and sometimes ridiculous 🤣🤣

She loves with her whole heart and we are so blessed to be her parents.

We had so much fun celebrating her all week long and looking forward to celebrating with friends and family tomorrow.

These pics have a special meaning to me.

The first two are the view from the kitchen sink window. It is of an empty lot behind house that connects to our yard.

For 14 years I have stood at the this window, watching the sunrise and washing endless dishes, praying. Praying for my family, friends, hearts, wisdom, and for the finances to purchase this lot.

The third is Rich and I standing on our newly purchased 1.4 acre lot! 🙏🙌❤️

I want to encourage you today to:
“Never stop praying.”

Reminiscing today….My Pappy would have been 100 today, but he celebrates his birthday in Heaven.

I was always a little afraid of him growing up, but as a young adult I came to love him. He was a harsh man but the more I understood his strict upbringing and the horrors he witnessed in WWII it made me sad for him. He never had much peace while he was alive.

It was on his deathbed he accepted Jesus and finally found true peace. I look forward to spending eternity with him.

Like most, this week has me thinking about Jesus' final days before His crucifixion. He makes His triumphant entry in to Jerusalem. The people, disciples included, saw this as the beginning of the end of their oppression. Jesus would rise up against the Romans. He would establish His earthly kingdom and all would be restored.

However,.....
things did not go as the people thought they would. In a few short days they were faced with the death of Jesus.

Wait, what happened? What happened to all of the plans and promises Jesus made in the previous years? The disciples who once walked with Him, witnessed His miracles, were now scattered and in hiding.

It's easy to criticize. How could they witness such great things and doubt that He would, in fact, rise again? They couldn't see past Friday to Sunday.

Honestly, if I am not careful I can act the same way? I see all that He has done in the past and in my moment of suffering, waiting, or confusion, I lose hope. I see my problems as too big for Him or I think they aren't big enough for Him to concern Himself with. I don't understand what is happening so I bury His plans for my life and go into hiding.

But there are times when I experience Friday and I KNOW Sunday is coming. It's not a matter of IF but WHEN. I thank God that my hopeful expectation moments are more often now then have been in the past.

As you take time this week to reflect on Holy Week I pray that you trust His plans, promises, and timing. You may be going through Friday, but Sunday is on the way!

Lord, help us to trust in You and Your timing for everything. Help us to hang on to Your promises in the midst of our struggles. Like the disciples, we may not see our resurrection Sunday but You can. Amen
